Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Fellowship: The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are the European Union’s reference program for doctoral and postdoctoral training.   The MSCA Doctoral Excellence program stands as a pinnacle of prestige in academic circles, recognized as the foremost initiative of its kind worldwide. This esteemed program embodies a commitment to nurturing the brightest minds, fostering groundbreaking research, and cultivating innovative approaches to address global challenges. They support excellence in research and innovation by fostering collaboration across borders, sectors, and disciplines. MSCA PhD grants are the richest (1st) in the world among PhD scholarships, funded by Europe Union, they must be honored.  Marie   Curie networks belong to the excellence pillar of H2020, which includes the calls most competitive from the scientific point of view. Only 6.7% of the submitted MSCA ITN proposals are financed, and this is a low percentage if compared wi

Gliwice bridge over Klodnica River

Hello Everyone! Post about SHM of wonderful Gliwice bridge over Klodnica River 😊. A first-class infrastructure is an inevitable factor for economic growth. Bridges have a key position in this infrastructure system. Its functional failure or collapse has significant economic and financial consequences. For this reason, it is important to regularly monitor the current bridge condition, and derive estimates of the remaining service life. This ensures a safe and economically sensible use for existing structures. For this purpose,  The research is conducted on the real bridge within DTS (Silesian Central Motorway)  in Gliwice ( Shared object for INFRASTAR project ),  which is  instrumented with various sensors .  The location of the bridge is illustrated in Figure below.  The sensors were install by NeoStrain in the construction during the erection works. Conference and technical visit at Østerild

I am so glad to share with you the  amazing experience of participating in my first conference in this project!   Technical system degradation conference  - took place in  liptovsky mikulas which are the military academy in Slovakia, between 04/04/18 and 07/04/18. The event was quite challenging for me since it was almost fully in polish.  Here is my  p oster: "I realized this morning that your event content is the only event related 'stuff' I still read. I think that's because it's not about events, but about the coming together of people to exchange ideas and learn from one another and that's valuable information for anyone." — Traci Browne I also learn from some presentations in the different technical system and interesting discussions which push me to think in a different way! The conference is not only about work,  it gives us a chance to meet different people. Here are some snaps: I got the opportunity

Life and Learning

How can triangulation make your research more reliable!! Hi Again, Effective research is the outcome of communication. Discussing with others is more efficient compare to our lonely struggle with the material. It is really important to talk with others about our work,in addition to spending a good amount of time for reading, writing, and conducting experiments, because this will provide quicker and better solutions to problems that we may encounter. And specially if it's industry people, experts then we can see the practical aspects of our research.                                   The first  INFRASTAR  implementation day was held at the Federal Highway Research Institute ( BASt ) in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. The main aim was inviting companies, administrations, local authorities, academic experts, policy makers, research scientists, engineers in order to discuss INFRASTAR research progress of Work Package 1- Monitoring and Asculation . As i am one of the four PhD

One year experience of being an Early Stage Researcher (ESR)

Why i decided to become an Early Stage Researcher? I was working in an organization before becoming an ESR. I did my internship at Deutsche telekom, so i was aware of the industrial perspective of a research, and I wanted to accelerate my technical technological knowledge so that I could cope up with the theoretical and practical aspects of research. That is the reason, I applied for the ESR position, to add more knowledge content to my profile. This knowledge comes from beneficiaries and partner organizations involved in the program as well as the recruited ESRs. They are from different domains and countries. It makes the program multidisciplinary very dynamic and has good international disclosure.  And during my first year, i had the impression that i was right. My host institution is Neostrain. And NeoStrain is a leading company in the measurement technologies for the construction industries in Poland. And i choose my host institution in an industry because it gives the perfe

A architectural model that describes my Phd Goal

My task in the project is to integration of sensor and local signal procession. Now i will try to explain architectural model from system engineering approaches which will describe my Phd Goal.  Following the architectural model (AM), the AM diagram of a sensor integration is shown below. The diagram includes entity, aspects, requirements and functions of the sensor integration.    Consider a stakeholder, such as bridge contractor. T hey have an excessive amount of maintenance on bridges due to demands from fatigue safety and monitoring considerations. Because, bridges need to be maintained to identify of possible damage. And monitoring  is really costly because good monitoring needs ''good sensor'' which can give meaningful information. But in practise it is difficult to get meaningful information from one sensor, that is the reason sensor integration for monitoring system recognized as a significant problem. Three system elements related to the bending proce
